What is Green Earth®?

Today's gardeners want products that are more environmentally friendly and easy to use. The Green Earth line of products has been developed over many years, offering new and effective products. We continue to search the world for safe, effective products.

All Green Earth pest control products are registered by the PMRA (Health Canada) under the Pest Control Products Act. All products in Canada that claim to control pests must be registered before they can be offered for sale. The PMRA reviews many studies to assess the safety of the products. These tests include short and long-term toxicity, carcinogenicity, environmental fate and toxicity, efficacy and many, many more.

Green Earth products are available for those who wish to use garden friendly products. Green Earth products have been selected for their low toxicity, minimal environmental impact and yet are highly effective products.

Unlike synthetic chemicals where the insects fall away after spraying, some botanically derived and mineral based products are slow acting, so don't always expect instant results. Large insect infestations many require repeat applications. Naturally derived products can be slightly more expensive. Many of the ingredients used in these products must be grown, harvested and processed or mined and refined sometimes in remote or distant locations.

Green Earth® vs. Home Remedies

Natural and organic does not equal safe. Some of the most hazardous compounds in the world are natural or organic. "Natural home remedies" listed in magazines and books have not been tested and approved for sale and may not be without risk to you, your plants or the environment. Some of these homemade concoctions are far more toxic than anything that would be available in the stores.

Where do Green Earth® products come from?

Green Earth products are botanically derived or mineral based. Many of the products, such as AIM® Insect Spray, Insecticidal Soap and Rotenone are derived from plants. Some products are derived from minerals such as Lime Sulphur and Garden Sulphur. A few of the products come from animals such as Fish Fertilizer and DIO® Bug & Slug, which comes from extinct microscopic marine creatures like coral.
